We are a professional, local, family business, established in 2002. Andrew has been serving the local community as a funeral director since 1981. We are proud to be working from Forres, where four previous generations have been in business, going back to 1801. Back then, it was a thriving joinery business, however, it was 2002 when Andrew Smith Funeral Directors was founded to serve the local area.
Our funeral home is on the ground floor at 17 Tytler Street. Click on the image below and drag your mouse around to see our 360-degree view.
It can seat up to 150 and we have an amplified audio and video feed, for those at the back of a busy ceremony. We can also provide an external livestream of a service.
In our chapel there also hangs the portraits of the four previous generations of Smiths that have been in business in Forres, originally having a large joinery business. Andrew’s family tree includes Donald Alexander Smith, better known as Lord Strathcona, the man who emigrated to Canada, becoming the High Commissioner and co-founding the Canadian Pacific Railway.
We are also proud to have a fleet of upmarket, British-made Jaguar funeral vehicles to suit any requirement.
