Curtis
Kathleen Curtis (nee Aylward) loving wife to Michael, Mummy to Katherine and Granny to Oliver, Poppy, Cicely and Orlando, passed away peacefully at home in Guildford Surrey, after bravely, and stoically, battling Ataxia. Born in Ranmoor Findhorn, Kathleen attended primary school in the village before completing her studies at Forres Academy. She moved to London for a long and successful career in the Civil Service, beginning her working life in the General Register Office in Somerset House before her long term appointment as a Valuation Officer, first in London, then Guildford and Godalming. Although she settled south, her heart was always in Scotland with many fond memories of growing up in Findhorn and summer visits.
“Gentle, kind and selfless” are the words that encapsulate a remarkable woman who achieved so much within her career yet prioritised her family above all else. She was unfailing in her love and is deeply missed by her family, including her dear sister Florence Higham. A funeral service will be held on Saturday 11th January 2025 at 11.00am at Kinloss Church before a burial in Kinloss Abbey. Family flowers only please and donations, if desired to Ataxia UK charity .
